Community Guidelines
NAPKIN APPLICATION LLC
Napkin exists to help adults reconnect after genuine real-world moments. These rules apply to Napkins, responses, selfies, profiles, chats, reports, and every other use of the service. Respect, consent, and real-world safety come first.
Be authentic
- Post only about a genuine interaction you personally experienced.
- Respond only if you honestly believe the Napkin concerns you or you have a legitimate reason to respond.
- Do not impersonate someone or misrepresent your identity, intentions, or relationship to an event.
- Selfies and profile photos must depict you and be images you have the right to use.
Respect boundaries and consent
A missed connection is not permission to pursue someone indefinitely. Rejection, silence, blocking, and disconnection must be respected.
- Do not repeatedly post about, respond to, or contact someone who asked you to stop.
- Do not pressure anyone to reveal a selfie, personal information, contact information, or meet in person.
- Do not create another account to reach someone who blocked or disconnected from you.
Protect personal and location information
Use a Napkin’s location only to describe where a genuine interaction occurred. Never use Napkin to monitor someone’s movements or identify a private residence, shelter, medical visit, school, place of worship, or another sensitive location.
- Do not post another person’s last name, phone number, email, home address, workplace or school schedule, license plate, live location, or social-media handle without permission.
- Do not combine details in a way that could locate, identify, embarrass, or endanger someone.
No harassment, stalking, threats, or hate
- No stalking, surveillance, threats, violence, bullying, humiliation, blackmail, intimidation, doxing, or coordinated harassment.
- No posts designed to frighten or pressure someone into responding.
- No attacks or promotion of hatred based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or another protected characteristic.
No sexual exploitation or content involving minors
Napkin is only for adults 18 and older.
- No sexualized content involving a minor, grooming, or attempts to contact minors.
- No nonconsensual intimate imagery, sexual extortion, pornography, sexually explicit content, trafficking, solicitation, or covert sexual images.
- Suspected child exploitation may be preserved and reported to appropriate authorities as required by law.
No scams, fraud, or financial solicitation
- Never ask users to send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, banking details, passwords, or verification codes.
- Do not promote investments, paid romantic arrangements, commercial services, false emergencies, phishing, blackmail, or extortion.
No illegal activity, spam, or platform abuse
- Do not facilitate illegal drugs, weapons trafficking, violence, human trafficking, theft, fraud, or other unlawful activity.
- No advertising, repetitive solicitation, mass posting, mass messaging, scraping, bots, or unauthorized automation.
- Do not manipulate reports or bypass blocks, bans, rate limits, or safety controls.
Only share content you have the right to use
Do not upload copyrighted images, private communications, or another person’s likeness without the necessary permission.
Safety notice
NAPKIN DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENINGS ON ITS MEMBERS.
A profile, selfie, confirmed email, or accepted response is not proof that someone is truthful or safe. Be cautious, keep early conversations in Napkin, never send money or financial information, meet in a populated public place, tell someone you trust, arrange your own transportation, and leave if you feel uncomfortable.
Report, block, and enforcement
Use the report option on a Napkin that violates these Guidelines. Block an author when you no longer want their active Napkins to appear. Reports must be truthful; knowingly false, retaliatory, or abusive reports may violate these Guidelines.
Depending on severity, context, history, and risk, we may remove content, limit distribution or features, restrict messaging, warn a user, suspend or terminate an account, prevent ban evasion, preserve evidence, or notify authorities when required or reasonably necessary. Severe conduct may result in immediate action without warning. Eligible decisions may be appealed through Support & Appeals.
Napkin is not an emergency service. If anyone may be in immediate danger, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency service.
